Weekly Roundup

Happy Friday!

We’ve been trying to get out of the house every morning lately. Some days, the three of us go to the zoo, and other mornings Ross and I go attempt to play tennis. I’m very terrible at it so we’ve lost many balls over the fence. Ironically, the other side of the fence is the zoo. I hope the keepers are giving my stray balls to some canines to enjoy.

I made a promise to myself last year to opt for colors before neutrals. And I did a big bold color the other day. I’m tickled that so many agree it was the right choice.

The death of color.

My favorite jeans are on sale. But let’s be honest, I’m still not wearing hard pants even a year postpartum.

For a countertop compost bin, we use an old cast iron pot with cracked enamel. It works great for us, but each time I rinsed it and sat it on the counter, there’s be a bunch of water pooled underneath. We sat in on a kitchen towel for ages until I realized I could just put it on one of these. Never going back.

Did you see the culmination of many months of taking flora-filled baby photos? I can’t stop at just 12.

We passed the final inspection of our kitchen and bathroom project!! I got in under the wire with 2 days to spare. Passing inspection should mean it’s all done and ready to enjoy, but it isn’t. We have some finishing touches in the bathroom before it’s fully functional, and a few decor pieces yet to be decided to finish the design.

This bank floor restoration is a must watch.

I got one of these brushes with soap storage and keep it filled with vinegar sitting in the shower. This way, I can easily give a quick wash of the walls to save myself having to do a deep shower clean.

I’m gushing over this wallpaper and red trim!

This airbnb is not okay.

And this school uniform is also not okay (see caption). The House passed HR1808, a ban on assault weapons, so now it moves to the Senate. Here are details on what that means and how to take action.

A beautiful cottage home tour.
