Weekly Roundup

I have the gardening bug! Soon, I’m going to take over a part of my driveway and turn it into an extension of our yard with cut flowers and veggies. The front yard has also gotten pretty overgrown so I’m cutting lots back and making space for more flowers. Plus, I may have gotten a little carried away with mammoth sunflower seeds. Can’t wait!

I’m still experimenting with film, and the changing spring season is fun to shoot. This photo above was shot on expired Kodak Gold and its age shows - I just can’t seem to get the right exposure on the old film. But new stock Portra 400 never disappoints.

Architectural Digest tours are always a fun peek at how celebs live, but the recent Emma Robert’s house tour has me analyzing every detail on repeat. Swoon!

I overseeded my lawn with Jonathan Green’s new Black Beauty Golden State grass seed. It’s designed for California lawns to be drought tolerant and stay green all year long. It’s the perfect grass for us because it withstands heavy traffic and has a lush look. Check it out if you live in California, and if not, scope out their other seed offerings for a variety of regions. (Ad)

This book is on hold at our library and I’m looking forward to it. It’s an introduction to Fair Play for kids, and I’m here for it.

Oh, and this gardening book is on hold for me at the library and I can’t wait! Placing holds from the library app and picking it up from my preferred branch is one of my hobbies.

We just wrapped up Slow Horses and while still missing The Bureau, we’re craving another smart spy show. Any recs?

Cathy and Garret have gotten back to work on the Poplar Cottage and I’m giddy watching them hang the cedar siding!

We didn’t jump on the Lovevery bandwagon until recently, but the Liquid Lab activity in the Investigator Kit has been such a hit. Try the play kits with $20 off here.

It’s taken me years, but I finally installed custom wood window screens! It’s been on our to-do list for nearly a decade, but I got the motivation and ordered them from Coppa Woodworking. Then, they sat in the garage for two whole years. Oops. I guess I was worried that I’d need to make a lot of adjustments and that they’d be a hassle to install. Silly me, it only took two afternoons to hang all of them! I used this hanging hardware and these turn buttons.

This nursery reveal is so lovely. I’d like to move in myself.

What a privilege it is. And, I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Meet Nugget, my daughter’s favorite play thing. Our local library couldn’t give away boxes and boxes of these, but Margot is in love.

I’ve been wearing “barefoot shoes” for a few months now, and no, I don’t mean ones that look like toes. Rather, they have a wide toe box to make room for your digits. They’re pretty simple sneakers, so I just ordered these pretty Oxford shoes and can’t wait!

Have a good weekend!
